Chess Clock / Game Timer
Free online chess clock for two to four players with Fischer increment, Bronstein delay, simple delay and sudden-death modes.
🔒 Runs entirely in your browser — nothing is uploadedA flexible game clock
This clock works for chess, shogi, Go, Scrabble and any game where every player has a fixed time bank. Choose the minutes per player, pick two, three or four players, and tap a player's panel to end their turn and start the next player's clock. The active player's panel is outlined in green, and when someone runs out of time their panel turns red and a low tone sounds. On a keyboard you can press Space to pass the turn.
The tenth of a second is shown when a player has less than twenty seconds left, so you can see exactly how close the flag is.
Increment and delay modes explained
Fischer increment adds a fixed number of seconds to a player's clock after each completed move, so a 5+3 game gives five minutes plus three seconds per move. Bronstein delay also adds time back after the move, but only the time actually used, up to the delay value, so the bank never grows beyond its starting size. Simple delay, also called US delay, holds the clock for the delay period at the start of each turn before time starts to drain. Choose none for classic sudden death.
Pick the mode that matches your tournament rules, enter the increment or delay in seconds, and press Apply and reset to start a new game. Pause freezes both clocks, for example while a position is checked by an arbiter.
Private and offline-friendly
Timing uses real timestamps and runs entirely in your browser. There is no account, no upload and no server. Place a phone or tablet between the players, use the large panels as buttons, and keep the screen awake for a full game.
For blitz, 3+2 and 5+3 are common settings, while rapid games often use 10+5 or 15+10. Classical tournaments may use longer banks with a delay. Practising with the same time control you will face makes your clock management much better.
