Count days until or since a date

Pick a date and the calculator tells you how many days remain until it, or how many days have passed since it. The result is also expressed as weeks plus days and approximate months, so a countdown such as 100 days becomes 14 weeks and 2 days. If the date is today the tool says so.

The preset menu fills in the next occurrence of popular dates: Christmas, New Year's Day and Eve, Valentine's Day, Halloween, Independence Day in the United States, the start of summer, US Thanksgiving and Easter. Easter and Thanksgiving are computed using the standard rules so they are correct for any year.

Calendar days, not hours

The count uses calendar days at midnight, so it does not change with the time of day or when clocks change for daylight saving. Whether you check at 8 AM or 11 PM on the same day, the number is identical. For a live countdown with hours, minutes and seconds, use the countdown to event tool instead.

Everyday uses

Count down to holidays, birthdays, exams, holidays abroad, weddings and project deadlines. Count up from an anniversary, a quit date, a purchase date for warranty purposes, or the start of a habit. Because the date is shown in full with the weekday, you can also confirm which day of the week it falls on. All calculations run in your browser and no date is uploaded.
