Make time visible

A visual timer turns the abstract idea of minutes into something you can see. A coloured wedge shrinks as time passes, so children, students or anyone who struggles with time awareness can tell at a glance how much remains without reading numbers. Teachers use them for transitions, silent reading, group work, tidy-up time and tests, and parents use them for screen time, homework and chores.

Set the number of minutes, pick the shrinking pie or the shrinking bar, choose a colour that works for your room, and press Start. The numeric time is shown underneath for older students, while the shape gives the quick visual signal.

Full screen for the whole room

Press Full screen to fill a projector, interactive whiteboard or TV with the timer so everyone can see it from the back of the room. The display stays crisp at any size. When time runs out, the shape empties and a two-tone chime plays; switch the sound off if the timer should stay silent during exams.

Pause and Reset let you handle interruptions, and changing the minutes while the timer is stopped immediately updates the full circle. Fractional minutes such as 7.5 are accepted for exact lessons.

Why it helps

Visual timers are widely recommended for children with attention or sensory needs because they make waiting more concrete and reduce anxiety about when an activity will end. They also support time-management practice: learners can predict how much of a task they can finish before the wedge is gone. Everything runs locally in your browser with no account, ads inside the timer or uploads.

Try pairing the timer with a simple routine: announce the activity, start the pie, and let students check it themselves. Over time they learn to pace their own work, and the teacher no longer has to repeat how many minutes are left.
